hi thanks for reporting it, it does work, all you need is just to join at-least 2 match and on the second match don't pick any gears just craft anything and it will work and change the value to 999999999 same for the scout nuts, if it still does not work please attach a video with you joined the match 2 times and craft anything (dont pick any nuts or gears in game)
